Evolus Estyme

Estyme® and the Evolution of Dermal Filler Technology

The commercial launch of Estyme® marks Evolus' entry into the European dermal filler market. What makes this launch particularly interesting is the introduction of a different manufacturing approach through Symatese's proprietary Cold-X® technology, designed to help preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid (HA) molecule.

For practitioners, that is where the conversation begins.

Looking Beyond the Product

Whilst practitioners often compare rheology, indications and treatment outcomes when evaluating dermal fillers, this launch shines a spotlight on an earlier stage of product development: how the hyaluronic acid gel itself is produced.

Estyme® has been developed using Symatese's proprietary Cold-X® technology, which is designed to help preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid molecule during manufacturing. According to Evolus, this approach has been developed to support long-lasting, natural-looking results.

Rather than focusing solely on the finished injectable, the launch prompts a broader conversation around whether manufacturing technology could become an increasingly important differentiator as innovation within the filler market continues to evolve.

Innovation Supported by Clinical Evidence

The commercial launch of Estyme® follows CE Mark certification under the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR.. Achieving certification under MDR provides assurance that the collection has met the required standards for safety, quality and clinical performance before commercial launch within Europe.

The Estyme® collection, marketed as Evolysse® in the United States, has also been evaluated through U.S. pivotal clinical studies. According to Evolus, the collection demonstrated both non-inferiority and statistical superiority against a leading comparator in head-to-head studies for selected products within the range, providing an important clinical foundation as the portfolio expands internationally.

For practitioners, the combination of innovative manufacturing technology, regulatory approval and supporting clinical evidence is likely to provide an important level of confidence when evaluating new injectable products entering the market.

A Portfolio Designed for Versatility

The Estyme® collection launches in Europe with four injectable HA gels:

  • Estyme® Smooth
  • Estyme® Form
  • Estyme® Lips
  • Estyme® Sculpt

Together, the portfolio has been developed to support a broad range of treatment indications, with Estyme® Sculpt designed for restoring mid-face volume and making its global commercial debut in Europe ahead of anticipated FDA approval in the United States later this year.

For practitioners, a comprehensive portfolio provides greater flexibility when selecting products for different treatment objectives and patient needs, allowing treatments to be tailored across a range of facial indications.

What Does This Mean for Practitioners?

Every innovation ultimately raises the same question:

How could this support clinical practice and patient outcomes?

Whilst longer-term real-world experience will naturally continue to develop as practitioners gain familiarity with the portfolio, Evolus positions Cold-X® as an advancement designed to preserve the integrity of the hyaluronic acid molecule, supporting refined, natural-looking outcomes.

Commenting on the launch, Dr Benji Dhillon, cosmetic surgeon and founder of Define Clinic, said:

"The launch of Estyme® in Europe is an exciting advancement for practitioners. The Cold-X® technology is designed to preserve the integrity of the hyaluronic acid, which is important when aiming for refined, natural-looking outcomes. Having a versatile range of gels that can be used across different treatment areas gives practitioners greater flexibility and confidence in delivering personalized results for patients."
